Every guide on safety-app.co.uk is written to answer one real safety question clearly, checked against official UK sources, and dated so you know how current it is. We correct mistakes quickly and never let the app we make change what a guide says is safest.

How we write and check a guide
Who writes our guides?
Guides are written by the Safety App UK team, the people who build the Safety App UK personal safety app. We research with the help of AI writing tools, and a person on our team is responsible for every guide we publish. We are not police officers or lawyers, which is why we quote the official source for anything that matters.
Our rules
- Answer first. The most important advice is at the top, in plain English.
- No fear-mongering. We explain real risks calmly and focus on what you can do.
- No victim-blaming. Harm is always the responsibility of the person who causes it.
- Free tools first. We recommend free official options such as 999, 101 and built-in phone features before any paid product, including our own app.
- No paid placements. We don’t accept payment to mention products or services.
- UK-specific. We say when something applies only to England and Wales.
How do I report a mistake?
Email ggshop@safety-app.uk with the page link and what’s wrong. We aim to check safety-critical corrections, such as a wrong phone number, within two working days and update the guide’s date when we fix it.
