Safety App is a free library of practical personal safety guides for people in the UK. Each guide answers one question: what do I do in this situation? From walking home at night to a silent 999 call, we explain the steps, the UK tools that help and the law, checked against official sources.

Who is behind this site?

We are the Safety App UK team, the people who make the Safety App UK personal safety app. The site is published by GG Straps Limited. We started it because most safety advice is either vague (“be careful”) or buried in official pages. We wanted clear, calm, step-by-step answers people can actually use.

What we cover

Getting home safely

Walking at night, night buses and trains, taxis, and what to do if you’re followed.

UK emergency tools

Silent 999 calls, 101, Emergency SOS on your phone, sharing your location and telling 999 where you are.

People and places

Students, lone workers, runners, parents, travellers, festivals, first dates and the law on self-defence.

What we believe

  • Good safety advice is calm, specific and never blames victims.
  • Free official tools such as 999, 101 and your phone’s built-in SOS come first.
  • Every fact should have a source you can check.
